Viktor Yanukovych emphasizes the necessity to strengthen labor protection at Ukrainian enterprises

A scheduled Government sitting paid tribute to miners perished in Zasyadko mine explosion with a minute silence.
"A terrible tragedy has occurred – people died. It is a terrible accident the consequences of which we are to overcome for many years yet and families of the dead will be echoed with it. Let us pay tribute to victims with a minute silence," Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said.
As the Head of Government noted, this accident testifies impropriety of undertaken measures which could prevent this accident. Volumes of payments for labor protection are still insufficient regardless the fact that they are constantly increasing (by 2,5-fold this year, in particular).
Viktor Yanukovych has commissioned the profile ministers to control labor safety at the Ukrainian mines and enterprises.
"We should make inspection at all directions in detail because things have reached problem point. I clearly understand that every sphere is unique. I also understand that it is impossible to unite them for solving problems. But we should put a labor safety issue at the highest level," Viktor Yanukovych stressed.
Besides, the Prime Minister has commissioned to prepare a special Government sitting devoted to the issue on responding to emergencies and emphasized the necessity to consider the state of labor protection at enterprises. And, first of all – in the coal sphere in which such cases most often take place.
"We understand perfectly well that disaster is ruthless to everyone. But there are the most updating technologies and we should consider an issue on labor protection in coal sphere – as a sphere which is the most dangerous. High labor safety should be also ensured in the iron ore, uranic mines, chemical industry, atomic power engineering and in other spheres," the Head of Government noted. | |
